I've written for National Geographic, “The Denver Post,” Alaska Airlines Magazine, and Seattle Business Magazine, among other publications. I'm also a radio reporter.

I have an undergraduate degree in biology and a Master's in Journalism. I'm currently an executive board member of the Northwest Science Writers Association.

I met my husband while splashing in (and surveying) crisp, clear salmon-bearing streams in Northern California. Other skills include: commuting on two wheels, grazing on fruit in my yard and keeping my two kids fed and watered for several years in a row.
